Capilano Suspension Bridge - Entry/Ticketing Facility

This structure houses the main entrance and ticketing facilities for the Capilano Suspension Bridge Theme Park located in North Vancouver. Our design vocabulary here was derived in part from the character of some of the existing buildings on the site, in part from the architecture of small town train stations of a century ago.

Though small in size and quite simple and rustic in appearance, this structure contains a great deal. Designed to handle the queuing and ticketing requirements for up to fourteen busloads of tourists at any one time, the structure also accommodates handicapped entry, visitor counting systems, computerized data entry points linked to a central admin point, and secure exiting for all. The roof of the structure also conceals security grilles that descend at night sealing off and securing the park.
